This the first swim class of the fall. She has finally reached the class with the big kids. The teacher is pretty strict but loveable. We started with him when she was only 6 months old and we are 7 years later. So my daughter insisted that Hedwig come along to watch her reach this milestone. Cute! Sent from my iPhone

I am looking forward to relaxing when I get home. Why? I have never worked so hard taking 2 sets of pictures: one for the srapbook and one ton real time on the blog, checking into whrrl and making recommedations and working to be the mayor of something in disney before i leave. I'm pooped from it all.

Linda was born in Okinawa, Japan and lived there until age 7 when she moved to the United States. Because of her racial background (her mother was Japanese and her father was African-American) and her family’s constant movement from city to city, Linda has developed a sense of adventure and love of travel which has taken her from Asia to Europe to South America.
Linda and her adopted daughter now live in NYC, hence the my moniker. In 2008, Linda started http://www.nycsinglemom.com, a lifestyle website devoted to the concerns, challenges and triumphs of single moms in New York City and http://www.nycsinglemomreviews.com a product reviews, events and tips website for busy moms on the go.
Prior to founding the site, Linda was a marketer for several Fortune 50 companies. Most recently, she worked in the financial services industry and, like so many hundreds of thousands of people, was laid off. This gave her opportunity to follow her dream to pursue her writing.
While she is in search of her next job, she is writing a book focused on her experience as a Japanese/African American single woman adopting a child. She hopes to share her story with others and provide some humor, insight and a very new twist on traditional adoption.
